Strange Problem

Hello Friends,

I am experiencing a strange problem in my cellphone. I reside in Bangalore. I have been using this cellphone in my earlier residences in other localities but i’ve never had this problem. But for the past few days I have been experiencing this problem here in this locality.

The problem is that the strength of the signals I am receiving is fluctuating a lot. Sometimes I see the display showing full tower strength and sometimes zero. Once I was speaking to a friend while in the middle of the call, the line was disconnected. When I took a look at the display, I saw the reception strength to be zero. Often I heard people saying

"I tried calling you but it was Switched Off"

or

"I tried calling you but it was Not Reachable".

I thought they were giving excuses. But once my transport was supposed to pick me up. They tried calling me but although my cellphone display showed full signal reception, the driver got a message "The # you are trying is not in use. Please check the # you have dialled". The driver gave the # and asked another guy to call me but the message said "The # you are trying to call is not reachable. Please call later." But exactly at 7A.M. in the morning, the incoming feature was activated(that proves it's intentional).

I called Airtel Customer care and asked them why the problem occured. They informed that due to the introduction of Airtel Broadband, a lot of bandwidth is exhausted. So sometimes incoming ( or outgoing ) calls are blocked. They also promised that the problem (which has occured in only a few areas) will be rectified.

Maan liya, the cellfone is not reachable when they try calling me. But at the same time when another person calls my # why does the network say the cellphone # is not in use ? There are two reasons why a human NEEDS a cellphone - one for incoming calls anywhere and the other - emergency calls ( when booths are closed at odd hours ). With this network what will I do? When I had my Reliance Cellphone, I had no network problems. But here, the reception is a damn problem within the city limits itself ! Airtel is not to be blamed completely, but the blame has to be cast on the GSM technology too. But they should not exhaust my bandwidth for the sake of Airtel Broadband. CDMA > GSM. Anyone facing the same problems? My advice : Never go for GSM....prefer CDMA. But among GSM providers, Airtel ranks #1 sans this problem.
