I got a service call from airtel to activate 3G and based on that executive recommendation I activated 3g service and choose RS100 per 100MB plan on april 12th. During activation I was told that when I my usage reaches 80% of free usage I will get a message from airtel alerting me about the usage. I did not get any message till 2nd of may and my billing cycle ends on 2nd of every month, so I assumed I did not use more than allocated free usage. in the meanwhile I had called 121 to check my usage around april 25th and they told the same thing that I will get message.
But when I saw my April bill I was shocked to see the charges they had mentioned for 3g service. it was Rs1500 alone for using 3G service. When I called 121 they said you have used more than allocated free usage so we have charged you, and when I told them I did not get any message of usage they told they have stopped sending message about the usage so I did not receive the message and I have to pay complete amount since I have used it. So they charged me 1500 for using 147 MB of 3G service.
Please do not trust these people. they can do anything to earn money. there customer service is the worst among all the service providers. When I asked one of the customer care manager(She is manager not executive) why your executive who gave me a service call to activate 3G did not inform me about the stopping sending usage message service, She told if you have that executive number call her and ask why are you asking me. We get call form land line with executives telling different names and she is asking me to call back and track her and ask about this. Horrible experience.
My suggestion is don't choose any service from airtel they overcharge you you like they did to me.
