Recently I moved to chennai and need to take a new mobile connection. After one week in my new office one day at lunch time, an executive from airtel is there in the office and he is giving the new connections(Closed user group of my company). Anyway I need a connection and he has a good plan where I can make the STD calls at Rs1. I took the connection and I submitted my company ID card as the proof. After one week my troubles started.
Initially I was staying in the company guest house till I find some accomodation. The guy who gave the connection told me that I should give the address once I moved out of company guest house. I gave the address to him. After 4 days of this incident suddenly my outgoing is barred without any notice. When I called the call center they have a single answer, I have to produce an address proof(which obviously I dont have coz I am new to chennai). I told the same to call center and asked dont u know this before giving the connection, they said we dont want to keep the custome till the address is verified. I called the guy who gave me the connection and asked, he asked me a letter from HR. I gave it and the connection is restored. Then after one week my number itself is disconnected. I asked the guy who gave me the connection, he again asked for the HR letter because the processing executives misplaced the letter which I already gave. I gave it again. Number is restored after 2 days.
Next month they called me and said they are not able to deliver the bill as nobody is there at the house, I said I am staying single and nobody will be at the house most of the time. So please deliver the bills at the office. They took the office address. The most funny thing started here, they disconnected my connection after 7 days again, I called the call center and they said that the new address which I gave is not traceable. It is an office with 1000 people working. Everyday their executive comes there to give the new connections. Still they are not able to trace the office. I wrote the same thing to the so called Nodal Officer. The nodal officer is such a dumb fellow that the response I received is "Give me u r new address, we'll restore the connection after the verification". I called them and explained all the story, after that they said According to their policy they will not deliver bills at the office address. By that time I was fedup and closed the connection.
