I had applied for a disconnection of my Airtel broadband services as I planned to move out of station for a fairly long period. The request was placed by me on 22 January 2013. On 26 Jan morning, I found they had discontinued my broadband. I confirmed this with Customer Support. Almost a month later, they are still harassing me with phone calls, initially to somehow keep the connection going. Now they tell me, the disconnection request was received on 14 Feb. What liars!
I knew they would do something like this so I never used it after 25th Jan.(In fact, I could not use it because it was disconnected and then slyly reconnected). Now they have issued a bill (about which they tell me on the phone - they never sent me bills. It was my duty to find out and pay the bills) for a full month. In fact from the 12th of the month, my billing date, till 26th, it makes only 15 days. If they had to do this, they could have kept my connection going for the entire month. I had given them advance notice in any case. Is there any law these service providers follow?
Earlier, entour, they disconnected my mobile as I had not used it for 3 months while on tour. So far so good. But when I unknowingly recharged it the next day, they quickly swallowed the money and later said they don't have a policy to refund it. They have the licence to swallow customers' money for services they are not providing. If for some reason, you recharge after some two months, they forcefully give some stupid service and then again swallow your money. In another city, I had not recharged for some time. I found an SMS saying that they were offering full talktime against a recharge of 45/- I decided to avail it. They gave me a talktime of Re 1/- Can you believe it? The rest was processing charges! They have the gall to cheat people like this and then, not satisfied, they resend the same message, thinking the customers will reindulge them... what blatant cheats!
Having a market share does not necessarily mean they are honest or give you your dues. It means they are also fleecing many people of small amounts to make a whopping ill-gotten profit!
