Airtel has an outage in Mumbai and their service is down for the last 12 hours. They first commit to clearing the issue in 8 hours. Now it gets extended to 12 hours. On that also they cannot give a guarantee . Finally they have confirmed to 28th morning, 08:00 am. Unlike Blackberry, they do not have any decision on how they are going to compensate their customers.
For the heck of it I asked them whether they would refund 12 hours of fixed fee costs. They indicated that they would have to check with their superiors. Mr Mittal wake up and smell the outage and how your customer service team is handling it!
