I had availed of international roaming in Feb 2013 for which I had paid an additional security deposit of Rs.3000/-.

On 4.5.2013, I had requested for stopping this service and refund of the additional deposit of Rs 3000/-. This service request was registered vide reference number 50312272. I was also informed that Airtel would update me the status of refund by 20.5.2013 by 1600 hrs.

Mean while I had received intimation regarding dispatch of my bill for the period up to 4.5.2013, (Bill no:103-101642575_69050586) for Rs 6076.22. On receipt of the bill, I have spoken to your 121 service and spoke to Mr.Sudarvanan (at 13:08 hrs on 9.5.2013) and asked him whether I can deduct the above Rs.3000/- and pay the balance to Airtel. He has agreed to the same. Accordingly I paid Rs 3072.22 being the balance due to Airtel against the above bill.

I had also written reminders on 12.5 with copy to the Nodal Officer. Since my mail to the nodal officer was rejected, I repeatedly re sent the same mail to 121 and Nodal officer on 13.5, 14.5 and 15.5. All my mails to Nodal officer were rejected with a message that” Delivery to the recipient failed permanently”. However the 121 service acknowledged the mails vide SR PO051400134 and promised to respond within one day but failed to do so.

On 16.5.2013, I received a mail from customer care (Venkataramareddy M N ) and informed the following.” As per your complaint number PO051400134 we have addressed your concern, the details as per your request, Thank you for contacting airtel need help and the opportunity to assist you. We regret the inconvenience caused to you, as per the previous request it will be resolved within the date of 29 05/2013 and concern team will get in touch with you.”

Sadly, neither action was taken nor any one contacted me as promised. Whenever, I tried 121 service, I did not get any help at all.

However despite repeated follow up Airtel failed to resolve the issue but the call center again informed me on 24.5.2013 (Maheswari from call center) and the content of the mail is re produced below.

“We wish to inform you that we have received payment of Rs. 3, 076/- on 22-05-2013. This payment has been credited to your account and applied towards invoice dated 06-04-2013. The credit of the said amount will reflect in your next invoice dated 06-05-2013.

........

We have already registered your request to refund the security deposit. For your reference, the unique service request number50322416. Our team will contact you by 29-05-2013, 10:00 AM with an update on the same.”

As usual Airtel did not care to resolve the issue. Instead of refunding the money or adjusting against the dues, Airtel again sent a bill for the period ending 4.6.2013, (bill no:99023366) for Rs 3870/-) and as promised by Airtel, this bill did not reflect any adjustment of the dues or refund status of deposit.

Please note that I shall pay Rs 870/- only as you failed to refund MY money for over a month.

This issue has been going on for a month and you are not bothered to resolve this.

It is very apparent that Airtel is keen on taking the customer for a ride and no regards or intention to serve the cutstomers.

The call center agents only assure support, but no action.

Since Airtel has not bothered to resolve this, I am exercising my option to post the same in websites like consumercourt.in and Mouthshut.com and also other social networking sites.

Thoroughly disgusted customer
