I am using services of 3 Cellphone service providors. MTNL, HUTCH, AIRTEL, But I found airtel to be the worst of these. I really wanna be harsh on them with abusive language while writing this, but cant do so bcoz this is a public place.
What has happnd is, one day airtel people woke up and started the VAS pack service free of charge, everyday I used to get an SMS stating that this is a free service and call on so n so number to get free caller tunes and stuff.
After a few months they again woke up and themselves subscribed me for the VAS pack and started charging me Rs.99 per month as VAS SMS charge. I used to pay my bills promptly without looking at the bills (bcoz it was within the budget) thinking that this a big and trustworthy company and not a CHOR company. After three months in the month of May 2008 I was going through my bill and found that I have been charged Rs.99 per month and this has been happening since Feb / March 2008.
I was shocked to see the charges. I called up the customer care centre where I was told that the charges will be reversed within 24 hours. I said wow...this is very prompt service. I called after 2 days to see whether the charges were reversed...but sadly...nothing had happned. After that I called at least 15 times to the DUMB CENTRE and everytime their DUMB CENTRE so called call centre takes the details of my request, gives me a request number by SMS and nothing happens after that.
*WHAT I HAVE REALISED IS, THEY ARE VERY PROMPT IN DEBITING WRONG CHARGES, VERY PROMPT IN COLLECTIONS ( U GET CALLS AT LEAST 3 TIMES A DAY FOR TELLING U THAT THE BILLS ARE OUTSTANDING) BUT NOT EQUALLY PROMPT IN CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Now I have decided not to pay my last 2 month bill so as to recover the wrong charges debited to me. I am ready to sacrifice my mobile number but I will not pay for the wrong charges. I will go for some other good cell company butNEVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE WITH AIRTEL. *
