AirTel is today India's largest Private Telecom company. The only private company to possess its own International Gateway, christened IndiaOne. The first to start up private PSTN lines in Madhya Pradesh.
To question their services amounts to sacrilege, in my opinion! I am personally using an AirTel SIM card - been using it for nearly 3 years now, and have never felt the urge to try Essar (now Hutch, the second Cellular operator in the NCR). In spite of Hutch's flexible Talp Plans. Simply, because I have had excellent support from both their Authorised Center (Prachtel Communications, Gurgaon) as well as from their HelpDesk.
I have also shifted to their Land line - branded touchtel. Apart from the numerous (26 or so, if I remember correctly) Value-added Services (like Caller Line Identification, Call Divert, Distinctive Ring Tones, etc.), Customer Care is so very efficient and willing to help! Comparing MTNL/ BSNL's customer care with AirTel's is ike comparing Dharmaputra with Duryodhan! Yes, I mean to be offensive, where BSNL, Gurgaon is concerned!!!
What impressed me most about touchtel is their wiring: not a single millimeter of wiring is exposed, right from their sub-pillar on the road, to the wall socket in my drawing room! Compare this with BSNL's wiring: broken and twist-jointed at 20 places, strung across the road, with each passing truck causing a potential threat to your telephone connection. Strung across trees - for want of proper Telephone poles, with each gust of wind causing disturbances and disconnects!
My sincere wishes and BEST OF LUCK to this pioneering organization!
