I have been using Airtel Postpaid connection in Delhi, for the last 11 years. A dissatisfied tale it has been. If I could switch to a different operator, yet could retain the same number I would be first one to do so.

In these 11 years, I would have ended up losing my patience with the Airtel customer support at least 50 odd times.

Their customer support is just not to the mark. When you need the helpline number most, it will not be reachable, sometimes the call will land nowhere. People have to hear the customer support interactions to believe what I want to share.

I am facing poor network connectivity both at workplace and at home. I work in an office which is located in a basement of a commercial complex (Janak Puri). The Network here is so poor that AIRTEL phones are out of reach all the time. (Surprisingly the VODAFONE, RELIANCE, and TATA Networks have no such problems)

If someone is lucky to get connected on their Airtel phones, it is difficult to hear the other party clearly. There are frequent call drops, and one ends up returning the calls from the land line. All this despite the fact some of us including myself use Airtel Corporate connections in our office, and have Airtel land lines for all us.

Despite the fact that we have complained to AIRTEL in the past, despite the fact that some one from Airtel did a site visit as a follow-up and declared that indeed there was a NETWORK problem. No action was taken after that formality of a site visit happened, About 8-9 months have passed by.

Same at home front... I stay in an apartment in Dwarka which is on the 6th floor and is open from 3 sides (no immediate construction next to my apartment on 3 sides) yet I can not listen the other party clearly. The problem of frequent call drops and phone coming unreachable is faced most of the times.

Complaints have been made on the helpline yet no solution found. 6-8 months have lapsed. I think the operators are benefitting from the fact that users can not migrate without losing their numbers and this is what is allowing them to render a half hearted service to consumers like me. I hope someone from AIRTEL will read this feedback and act on it considering it being a sincere feedback and a request for help.

At the same time, this should work as a deterrent for people wanting to take new Airtel GSM connections in the areas I have mentioned (Janak Puri, and Dwarka in New Delhi) I hope Airtel does something to solve the problems I have mentioned and I am able to write a positive / happy review after I have been provided with solutions to the problems that I face from day to day.
