Idiots @ Airtel Bangalore. Review on Airtel Mobile Operator

I took a two new connections on 30th Jan 2007. They got activated the next day and the stupid address verification was supposed to be completed within four days. I called Airtel customer service asking them to activate the STD service on my numbers. So the stupid representative replied that "it is already active sir, just remove your SIM and insert it back again". It tried that for a couple of days but no magic. Meanwhile I was travelling, and some smartass idiots who do the address-verification decided to visit my home without calling and confirming with me if I was available at home. When they found the home locked they informed Airtel about it.

So I again called Airtel oblivious of the fact that anyone came to my house for address-verification to activate my STD, and they inform that I have to send some stupid SMS to a stupid number to get it activated. I asked those smartasses as to where and how was I supposed to dream about this process of sending an SMS, but it was futile because they are completely without brains and failed to understand the meaning of this question.

Then after some 10 days after I took the new connections my local-outgoing was all of a sudden disabled on both the numbers. I called angrily stating that they are supposed to inform me, call me, or send me an SMS before stopping my service, but of-course this concept is beyond their comprehension.

So in summary, I called Airtel more than 10 times in first 10 days to get my phone working properly, as it should, but it is still without any STD facility.

These guys are plain idiots.

After all, how much sense does it make to allow local and stop STD when their rates are almost same! I even offered several times to make a security deposit of Rs 2000 or 5000 but this company simply does not want any money. They have a very well-crafted process that they are not willing to change. I think that Mr. Mittal must of written it in a document and made it read-only so that nobody can ever change/improve the process.

I have never ever(in my life) had such a horrible experience of any kind of service by any service provider. Even the passport office, ration office, Gas distributors, railways, and the lowest of the lowly air deccan is better than them. But Air Deccan is another story.

So if you can, avoid Airtel completely if you want good service.
