I feel that I am one more dissatisfied customer as far as Airtel DTH service is concerned. I got a Airtel Digital HD Dish & STB free (Customer ID 3009300288) with my Sony LED TV. I recharged yesterday and called the Airtel customer service. The dish and STB was installed today afternoon but there is no sign of the activation. I keep getting error code 6 (which is recharge needed).
I sent a SMS (HR to 54325) as per instructions, and get a message that 'Please send this message from your registered mobile number' even though the message was sent from a registered number! When you call the helpline ( several times) they make you wait forever before responding and none of them even seem to speak proper English. I do not understand how a brand like Sony which has set standards for all to follow could tie up with a company having such a lousy attitude towards customers for promotion! I went for Airtel despite the fact that I am a satisfied TataSky customer due to the fact that Airtel transmission is a notch better than the rest of the providers. But it seems that it indeed is a very high price to pay! Their lousy customer service more than offsets this advantage. I would advise all my friends over there to strictly AVOID this provider!
