This was a memorable event from every aspect. I wanted to pass on a message to the organizers so that we have a better competition in future. This feedback is for the process which requires the participants to collect running number bib from Airtel's location. This time the location was in Saket, New Delhi. When I reached there, the place was totally confusing.
At the entrance of the mall, there was a long queue and I assumed that this is the right one and got in there. After 5 minutes I realized that queue is not moving so I asked around. Came to know that this queue was to collect goody bag and the stock was over so queue was not moving. Why should the goody bags be kept on another location when only place to collect the same is that mall!! Nevertheless, I asked around and reached another area where I could collect my running bib number. To my surprise, all the counters (there were around 15-20 of them) were empty except one that had long queue :-) (Mind you but all other counters had people sitting behind them).
I asked around again (!!) and came to know that the queue was for the photostat machine. I was surprised why people are lined up there then I was told that I need to provide the organizers with a copy of my photo id in order to get my running bib number. I told them that there is no such thing written on the acknowledgement letter I received from organizers. And if they had wanted the copy of photo id, they should have asked everyone to bring it along so that queue could have been avoided.
There were some other fellows as well as foriegners around in the queue and they agreed with me, but no volunteer agreed to bring any responsible person for an answer. This was such a waste of time for everyone. I request organizers to please put some sign boards around in future and take note of above feedback.
Other than that a wonderful event. Thanks for brining all the celebrities to cheer us up.
