This is John Samuel M from Chennai - RE: False commitment made regarding new Broadband service.
I have applied for Airtel Broadband as one of their executives named Sathya made atleast 15 phone calls and confirmed me that they are providing Broadband in our area. He also explained me the plans and I chose to go with(849 - 6GB - 2Mbps).
Another person Raj came in person to collect the documents and also a cheque of Rs. 1000 on 6th Feb. He promised that someone will call me on Saturday. I didn't get any update on Saturday and Sunday. I called the customer care and the representative said that he will have someone call me before 12.30PM today.
Someone called me today by 1.30PM and explained me that they can't provide a Broadband connection in my location. The reasons sound so meaningless to me as I know my neighbor is using Air tel. Even if it is not possible, why Air tel didn't check the same before collecting the documents and making repeated calls for a week? I have rejected an offer from another service provide hoping that I am getting it from Air tel. Now I have to live without Internet for sometime before I get one. The guy didn't give any proper response for the cheque I gave for 1000.
So anyone going for Broadband with Airtel, please be aware that you may end up with this.
