I purchased a post paid 3G data card on 4.4.12 and provided various papers for verification. This included copy of passport, office ID (i am a class I officer with Govt of India), copy of driving license, and so on. Airtel people came to my chamber in Rail Bhawan (A Govt of India Building) quickly and delivered the data card within 1 hr. I had made a special request for early activation as I was supposed to be out of city for the next 3 days. Anyway, the data card started working in the morning of 5.4.12.


on 18.4.12, it stopped showing register failure message when I tried to connect. Meanwhile I was getting messages on data card regarding my registration number (user id), password etc and it was ok. When I contacted Airtel toll free number on 18001030405 regarding this registration failure, I was told that my services have been suspended but the customer care fellow could not give me reason and gave me another number 198 for knowing reason. When I contacted 198, they gave me another number 12134 for knowing the reason. When I contacted 12134, the fellow there again tried to give me the first number i.e. 18001030405. This was enough for me and I asked him not to put me in any "do loop". after this he checked my status and told me my address verification had failed as I was not present on my residence on 5.4.12.


At the time of purchase, I had informed that I shall not be at my residence for the next 3 days so it is surprising that my verification was done on such a date. I live in a Govt accommodation in Delhi and my name is written outside my house, at the ground floor of my building and my neighbors can be inquired. And if my verification failed, no one bothered to inform me for the next 15 days! This is surprising. and without any notice, my services have been suspended! This unprofessional attitude by Airtel only tells me about their business ethics. Upon inquiry from their customer care that how was I going to get my money back, he had no reply. I am unable to understand Airtel is more interested in selling the dongles of the services?


For your information, I am using two airtel cellphones, one of them is  a corporate number of my Ministry (99582936XX) and other one is my post paid number (96508968XX). the latter is registered on my name with the same address for which verification was negative.


Frustrated at Airtel's services, I want my money back.
