Do not Go for Airtel 2Mbps??!!. Review on Airtel Broadband

I had to change my good opinion about Airtel broadband because of their 'Thick skinned' back end Billing so called Officers. I was in 256Kbps unlimited month I wanted to try Airtel 2Mbps 2 GB limited plan. The plan was changed with great effort after one week. Throughout the month they could not achieve the speed and transfer rate. They could achieve the speed of 1.5 Mbps after making lot of trial but could achieve a transfer rate of 20 Kbps (I was getting more than 20Kbps when I had 256Kbps) Their technicians came home and checked my computer and found everything was normal. They made huge download from my computer...more than 2GB as a trial download. Finally as they could not achieve the transfer rate, I have gone back to 256Kbps. The technical team assured me that they would take up my case to Billing department and will not charge for the trial download they made in my account. But when the bill came I was surprised to note that they have charged me for their trial down load also. When I contacted technical and billing departments, they assured me that they will make the adjustment and inform me within 3 days. Now it is more than one week they have not sorted out. The so called Senior officers are always busy in selling their products and never bother of Billing conflicts. Finally the billing department said that they cannot help and I have to pay for their trial. Airtel Chennai has some thick skinned , non competitive officers life M's. Ra..........., Nan......Ve........etc who are spoiling the good image of Airtel.

I have published my case in all blog sites and Leading News Papers not to go for Airtel 2Mbps and get cheated. I have also filed a case in Consumer Court.

My friends circle (to whom I recommended Airtel) of 26 connections of Airtel broadband and decided to discontinue with Airtel.

I just thought I will try AirTel, and I ordered for their Unlimited 256 plan with free Land line phone (No rental). No deposit or installation charges. The next day itself the team of technicians and Engineer came to my house and did wonderful wiring - all through conduits right up to my computer. They also gave a 'Caller ID' phone of BeeTel (free rental). My Tata connection was 512kbps, but airtel was only 256kbps. I could not find any difference in speed. Tata connection wiring was overhead hanging every ware and I used to get the disconnection of cable (snap) almost every week. Another plus point of Airtel is they have many toll free numbers working 24hrs all the 7 days. I used to Call Tata Indicom through my BSNL number almost 3 to 4 times everyday because of their technical problem. Each time it used to take minimum 20 mts. I was paying through my nose my telephone bill because of Tata Indicom. Now no hassle. It is very easy to get customer service of AirTel and it is free. They guide you very well and I didn't have any minor problem also so far. I checked with ADSL meter the speed of AirTel and it is always above 256, where as Tata's used to be below their connection speed by 100kbps. In reality, users may find that the test only lasts around 30 seconds. But fill the details they require and you will get the report.Airtel has got their own speed test software. For Chennai people AirTal is the best. I have all in one package - their mobile, their broadband and their land line. All the three are very good. Good luck!"
