Do the after sale service always have to be that bad? Ok I agree that the Airtel broadband connection is good but like I told the sales guy right at my door that the after sale service is not that flowery as their words during the sale. I told him on day one that I urgently need the broadband connection for my office work and was assured that it will be activated in max 2 days.


As per their policy I made the complete payment of Rs. 4630 for a 6 month connection with 256 kbps speed and also handed over the required documents. But don’t you guys think that they need to amend their policy and probably take only a part payment before even activating the service? This way at least they would service better. I didn’t have the time to run around and do a research on the other providers and I trusted the guy at the door and he gave me a hard time. But I gave them a tough time too in return and why not after all he did no samaj seva! I paid for the service.


To my surprise a guy from Airtel did turn up the next afternoon, spoke nicely as if he was going to activate the connection within hours but I kept staring at him when he just did the cabelling in 10 mins. and walked away saying that now an Engineer would come in some time to complete the rest of the work and activate the connection. And I knew that this would not happen the same day. I called the sales guy and he kept on assuring and pacifying me.


Then a day after they sent a wireman, I would say a tired man at my door who did not understand a head or tail of what I was saying. He started the work at around 3:00 pm in the afternoon intruding my sleep and kept on struggling with his work for hours and messing my house by drilling on the wall which was still ok. But the worst was when he told me at 8:00 pm that he was short of the cables to be used and I completely lost it.


I called the Sales Executive and blasted on him. As usual he gave me common reasons like how we use templates that the guy sent to my place was new and the regular, experienced person was in a leave for the day. I told him that he has tried my patience enough and asked him to get the damn cables from anywhere and finish the work the same day or else return my payment, pack their stuff and leave.


He then arranged for another skilled person who was working at a different location who dropped in with the extra cables and finished all the work in max 20 mins and stepped out. I was completely exhausted that day having heated arguments over the phone with the sales executive to get my work done and of course cleaning the place. But I must say that it’s been 4 days now since the connection was activated and I have no issues neither with the connection nor the speed. So far so good.
