I had put a request to change my broadband plan from Rs.1699 2mbps unlimited to Rs.1799 4 mbps unlimited plan on around 20th June.
After a lot of delay( many more days than promised 7 working days), the new plan started from 09 July 2010.Before that I got 2-3 calls from Airtel, asking me the confirmation of my new plan.( UNLIMITEDRs.1799 4mbps plan). I did not received the bill till the last payment day since they sent the bill to our very old now-extinct email account( they have not updated our email address in spite of my request many times before).
When finally I saw the bill, I was taken aback. The amount is Rs.4598. I immediately called them and was told that my plan is a LIMITED plan!Before changing the plan, I checked Airtel site on the internet and saw the tariff plan. It mentioned there 1799 impatient plan, UNLIMITED 4mbps and there was NO PLAN of LIMITED 1799 4 mbps plan anywhere in their tariff applicable to Delhi!They said it is unlimited download, but the speed becomes 256kbps after 50GB download in a month.
I asked them whether the speed becomes again 4 mbps next month, then they said yes.I remember all these conversations but NOW THEY SAY THAT MY PLAN IS A LIMITED PLAN and I have to pay Rs.4598. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT THEIR OWN MISTAKES AND PUT THE FAULT ON THE CUSTOMERS!I cannot believe that they can do this to me. I still have 7 lines with Airtel, but now I should change to somebody else.
THIS IS HOW THEY MAKE MONEY, BY CHEATING CUSTOMERS!
