I used to think that Airtel has good service and support in addition to quality broadband.
I had fairly ok experience with Airtel broadband in Bangalore. Bills were below Rs. 1200 and service was good. I even burnt the wire one time by accident and they replaced it for free.
Recently I shifted to Hyderabad and took the broadband connection again without knowing that things might be completely different here.
I was surprised to get Rs. 10000 bill next month. Thinking that it might be the billing error and Airtel will accept and correct the error immediately, I called their call center.
Nobody at customer service listens to you. They are piece of cheats in the town.
I had to follow up at least 10 times and re-tell the story time and again.
Nobody is intereseted in what you tell. They are intereseted in extracting the money out of you.
When taking the connection, the representative will suggest that this plan will be best for you or that plan. Don't believe him or her. Always use your BEST Judgement. The representative take advantage of our inexperience in determining the most suitable Broadband speed and Usage.
In addition, there had been lot of network issues.
In conclusion, don't take Airtel. I don't know which one is the best in Hyderabad. I would be happy if somebody in mouthshut recommends better Broadband provider.
If you have to take Airtel, then take Unlimited Plan. Otherwise, they are going to rob you of your money on pretext of heavy usage.
Bottomline: Don't get confused by the representative about the PLAN you are going to take. Always go for UNLIMITED Plan depending on the speed you want - 599 Unlimited, 799 Unlimited etc
