Curious case of Airtel broadband transfer.I am really really pissed off and frustrated with my experience. As you would guess, many of us do not really care about writing reviews unless there is something serious.


I am a resident of Pune. I had to shift to the other flat so I requested a transfer on 8 of June 2014.My existing plan was of 799 pm. After few days I was told that On the new location Airtel had fiber optics network so copper wire plans were not available. I will have to go for 1299 plan. As this plan was significantly higher than I needed, I checked for the Airtel plans on their website. There was a 999 plan in Pune for fiber optics network. I communicated that you have this plan. There were lots on to and fro calls for this. Few days later the contact person told me he had ignored this one because the plan was new, and he was not aware of the plan. He assured me that 999 plan will be granted. Around a week later, I checked again I was told that this plan is not available for transfer due to some bug in their system. But I can go for a cancellation and I will be able to get the 999 plan on a new connection. This was around 23th of June.


Now on 24 of June, I called up the customer care(no toll free, I would have burned 400 rupees just calling their customer care). I narrated the whole story, so that cancellation become easier. I had earlier memories on difficulty of cancellation of connection with Airtel.


Cancellation request was raised. But cancellation departed started on blank page, not willing cancel the connection. Offering alternatives.:O  Funny. What is problem if I am going to take another connection? I explained the reason and expected to get the connection cancelled.


I had in-parallel raised a request for the new connection.  The sales person related with the new connection request, got some scolding from retention department and put the new connection request on hold.


At around 26th of June, I got a bill of 896 or something for this duration? Now till 7th of june, I have not got new connection at my new location. My old connection is not cancelled. I checked with customer, connection is not cancelled due to non payment of bill.:O


wow. Do not transfer, do not cancel, and keep asking for payments!
