My plan was changed without informing

I was enrolled into the plan of 799 at 512 speed.  They on their own unilaterally without informing me(cusotmer), they have enrolled me into another plan of 899 at 2mpbs speed.

The reason they give is 2mbps is minimum speed to which they are upgrading all the customers to.  So all 512 mbps speed customers are upgraded to 2mbps.(the same reason was provided, then 256 kbps of my unlimited speed was converted to 512mbps 1 year ago).

My doubts are:

  1. My broadband capacity download is 10GB per month.  After the 10gb is exhausted, then it will automatically speed will reduce to 256 kbps.  If 256 kbps is not available and minimum is 2mbps, then after the download quota how come airtel is able to provide 256kbps.only because it is available right

  2. The bad part was the change of plan was discovered through the bill was that provided to me.  Airtel did not take my approval on whether I need to shift to the new plan or not.

  3. Customer support call centre had the take it or leave it attitude as if I am being done a big favour by them by attending to my call.  I asked the process for disconnection so was provided with 799 plan with 7gb download.  The catch they didnt let me know is there are other hidden conditions attached to which I discovered through the tariff published in the airtel website.

I am contemplating the government broadband provider railwire to be much cheaper and reliable in terms of billing.  Also waiting for what reliance(mukesh) group has to be offer in the future in terms of cheap broadband.

Thanks,

Anand
