One of the worst decisions of my life to disconnect my perfectly working BSNL connection and to go for Airtel 4G. I thought that I will get more speed, more data, and better service. I must be dreaming at that time because I was hoping for something that does not happen in India.
The on-boarding process was smooth. I have gone for 4G router option. Earlier when I used to use BSNL, the data usage limit was 4 GB, and I have hardly ever crossed it. Now the data usage limit is 10 GB.
I was surprised to see in their portal that within 7 days of usage, I have already consumed 7.5 GB of data. When I called, I got some standard answer that wait for your bill to check for yourself. I am convinced that these guys are stealing my bandwidth so that I am forced to buy additional high speed bandwidth from them.
The connection will be active, but all of a sudden the internet stops working. It happens at least 3/4 times a day and its irritating if you are in the middle of a long web conference or some other important work.
The 4G connection comes randomly. And when it goes to 3G mode, the browsing is pathetic. One page loading takes more then a minute at times. I get hardly 5 MBPS speed at the peak.
A stupid product and a cheating company. Avoid this.
