I have opted for Airtel 4G LTE WiFi router and after 15 days waiting.. I got the instrument and the sales executive came to my flat and fixed and checked the 4G speed which came 5.5 mpbs but during application process.. he promised me I would get min. 10 mpbs speed but I was not sure about it but 5 mpbs is good enough I thought.
He hasn't given receipt for the amount paid. No application receipt as well... called many times and got frustrated.
During the application he showed me the AIRTEL flyer and explained that this connection will support 4G, 3G & 2G as well wherever there is no 4G signals but when I took this router to my hometown (3G) its not working. Customer care says this router doesn't support 3G /2G.
On the sim card its printed it is compatible with 2G & 3G as well.
So called Airtel golden customer service executive do not know what to advice and finally he told to write a mail to 121@airtel.in.
I wrote a mail about the issue but no body responding even after couple of reminders, sincerely acknowledgement mail comes "thanks for your mail.. we will respond within 24 hrs" - its only auto-set message.
Finally one person wrote.. the devise what I got is single routed device which supports only 4G.
My question, when its mentioned as compatible with 2g/3g &4g but how come AIRTEL can sell theses single devices without proper communication to customer.
I am going to escalate this to Airtel nodal officer.
When you opt for this 4G LTE, please make sure you get 4G signals in your area and get a router which is 2G/3G/4G compatible (unless if you are not using it in travel).
Hope it helps you..!

On 26th September 2013, Airtel Technical person arrived and verified the devise and escalated the issue and on the same day I got a call from Airtel customer service and they confirmed that they are going to replace the devise.
On 27th September 2013, Airtel person has arrived and replaced the single mode device with multi-mode devise (compatible with 3g & 4g) and he has provided the bill as well.
Finally I understand that the issue was occurred because of the dealer who deals with Airtel WiFi routers. However Airtel replaced the device and hopefully it will work fine hereafter.
Thanks & appreciate the Airtel guys who understood the problem and helped me to solve this issue.
