Started on 12th, completed yesterday night 1130Pm IST, here’s a review of AIRCRAFT, written by one of my fav writer Michael Crichton. This novel was first published in 1996, and my copy has 431 pages and I got 2nd hand book ordered from Amazon.in.
It’s a story about an airplane incident, the Norton widebody N-22(airframe), operated as TransPacific Flight 545 from Hongkong to Denver had an incident in mid air at 37000 height and has to be emergency landed at LAX and it required 40 ambulances on ground, and 2 passengers are died while others are injured. What happened onboard that flight? Will IRT boss Casey Singleton be able to find what happened on that flight?
By the summary it looks like an exciting story, but its the book only for Crichton’s fans like me since I am aware of his writing style, he used a lot of technical jargons to support his sci-fi stories to give them credibility, so that it all looks plausible. I liked this book though it is a bit lengthy, goes for 431 pgs, and a lot of research and case solving involved including a lot of technicalities wherein not lot of was revealed in end. The book is engaging but story level very slow. Story did had an end(with a surprise) but its not a conventional thriller, and I doubt could be made into any movie. Its one of a weakest from Crichton, I will rate this book 5/8, its not for everyone, but Crichton lovers go for it.
Oh yes, but it depicted the reality of Media perfectly, how their truth will become everybody’s truth, even when it’s not the truth.
