I bought an aircel sim, cause of it's affordability and the much hyped'unlimited pocket internet'.
That was five years back, and now that I think about it, all I could say is that it was a good marketing strategy, after they scrapped unlimited pocket internet, which had unlimited packages starting from inr 7 only, a few months after I opted for Aircel.
Affordability and catchy offers were the only things why I bought it.
And even now, they manage to offer the least 2g/3g internet rates and call rates among the competiton.
But the thing which screams for attention is'quality and connectivity'. Call signal drops while indoors, internet faces various glitches now and then. The signal connectivity and internet speeds aren't consistent and vary by a large extent from location to location.
The daily rate-cutters are a great deal. The ussd codes run fine most of the time. 4G could be started to stand-out or atleast thrive with the competition.
One more good thing is the 10inr credit facilty, which aircel offers when you are low on balance and need to make an urgent call.
Customer service isn't that great to be honest. Vas and other crap from which aircel magically vanishes balance from your main account is something to be not proud about. you click on some ad while browsing the internet, and voila for aircel, you have been subscribed for some crap-load of stuff like'hot bollywood girls pics unlimited download for 30 days'sigh. worst part they automatically renew after the validity, unless you unsubscribe them. This cheap practice must be reviewed by the authorities.
Roaming could be a huge burden both on your peace of mind and balance too.
Overall -it was a sweet and bitter experience(mostly sweet:P)
