27th June… I was eagerly waiting for the day. My tickets were booked a month in advance. Leaves were granted by boss.Bags were packed. Yes, I was all set to fly to Delhi. It was the first time I was going there, and was super-excited. My flight was at 9:25 p.m. on a Friday night. And since the Bangalore Airport had shifted to a new place, almost out of the city, I was a bit confused about the commute.

One day I saw the hoarding of air-lift cabs, and noted down the website to check it out. I asked a friend, if she has heard about the service and if it's good? She recommended me not to travel via those cabs, since they are not too professional. A friend of hers had suffered due to those cabs. I still checked out the website, and thought why not make a booking through this only, as they are quite cheap(just 340 bucks). I made a booking on 26th of June and filled the time 6:13 p.m. as I thought 2 and half hours is good enough time to reach there. The next day in great excitement, I reached the pick-up point at sharp 6'o clock, as I just couldn't wait to board my flight. Called the driver at 6:15, he said he will pick me up in 5 minutes, but there was no sign of him even after 15 minutes.  Called him thrice, finally he picked me up at 7.

Sloppy

I told him to rush to airport straight, otherwise I will miss my flight. He said he can't help but pick-up two other people who have also made the booking. Frustrated, I called the call-centre and tried to make them understand that I need to reach airport by 9'o clock, they assured me and told me that I will reach there by then. But I was not convinced, as Bangalore traffic is not reliable. I spoke to a head there, he re-assured me that I will reach airport on time, and if I don't they would buy me new flight tickets. Finally we reached airport at 9:08 p.m. and the boarding counter was closed. I pleaded the spice-jet staff to let me get in, but they said they can't go against the rules.

I called air-lift people to buy me tickets, but they flatly refused. Stranded without money I had to buy tickets for the next day, (while borrowing money from a friend, as I didn't have sufficient funds to buy the ticket). I just didn't know what to do, all alone at the airport at 10'o clock in the night. I reached home some how and started my journey next day. The trip was good, but this experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. After coming back from Delhi, I tried to talk to them again, for the refund, they just don't listen to anything, however they promised me to refund me the cab-fare which I paid, that also I haven't got till date.

They just don't pick up my phone anymore.

PS: There were two drivers in the cab, and they kept using abusive language for their bosses. They themselves agreed that air-lift people don't know how to manage the cabs and that's why people are missing their flights. And they left out one guy on the way, just because they didn't have patience to wait for him to come. Poor chap must have also missed his flight!
