I once missed my Lufthansa flight from frankfurt to Bangalore and without a choice had fly Air inida coming from Chicago to Mumbai.
That one experience was enough. I never set foot on Air India again.
Being a frequent flyer these things just stand out .Some weird things that happened on that flight:
1)3 Hours after take off, after the food was served the captain of the flight walks down( It was a Being 747) and without any hesitation( In hindi: bina sharm ke). takes a bottle of Johny Walker and walks back. I was surprised, the captain of the flight walking away with a bottle of whisky. he didn't even bother to hide it and just took it. me and a fellow passenger just looked at each other and were wondering what the f?
2) The air hostess was serving whiskey straight from the Johnny walker bottle( 750 ML), and few people would even ask for a little more . and she would just serve an extra 5 ml, and when one f the passengers demanded more, the air hostess says in hindi " Utna hi milega", considering the fact that the gentleman looked decent and was well dressed.
3) At Frankfurt when they people( flying from chicago) were given passes to go out of the aircraft and return for boarding in 60 minutes. After and hour when the actual boarding started people just ran like maniacs and began boarding like the way we board a bus in india. What surpirised me was that this was the crowd who have been in the US and how cud they behave like this? The crew didn't say a word. when I asked the ground staff why they didn't make an annuncement and board the flight systematically.
The old DESI Air hostess said just one thing. " DESI LOGON ke liye yeh sab chalta hain".
I'm not in a mood to get into other nitty griity details, as many of you have said enough about it already.
