I recently travelled on Indian Airlines from Delhi to Bangalore (July 2006).
There was no special preference to Indian as it is called now but thewebsite that I was trying (makemytrip) came up with Indian being thelowest so we went for it.
The experience overall was quiet good and it was excellent for the checkin.
In Delhi Indian and Kingfisher have an exclusive terminal to themselvesso no fighting for trolly and lines for getting into the airport.Abundent sparkling new trollies were available (the ones which brakewhen you dont press the handle). The terminal was clean and withoutmuch crowd. The person helping for seat allocation and checkin waspolite and helpful though not the pretty and extra-efficient youngperson you get on the private airlines.
The flight was on time to depart and reach and the takeoff and landing was also pretty smooth.
The airhostesses were also polite and did respond when called. Though again the comment as given for checkin applies.
There was food which was served during the flight and it was as withall airlines food - passable with some items being edible. (Maybe I ama bit pickey about food)
The luggage arrived without any hassle and one of the packages which Ihad indicated as 'fragile' seemed to have been handled carefully.
So all in all a good experience - or maybe the expectation was too low.
But better than Spice Jet which did not serve any hot food and had astop over added at Pune from which the flight took off late due toAirforce movement.
Obviously cant compare to Kingfisher with whom the experience was superb.
But I would say comparable to Air Sahara or Jet.
But since this is based on a few domestic journeys overall and only once in Indian do take with a pinch of salt.
