Didnt have the option to rate anything less than 1. Air India and its employees dont deserve that also.
I had a flight AI 0349 from Delhi to Mumbai on 15th march 2009 at 400 hrs and then AI 127 to Chicago at 800 hrs from Mumbai.
The AI Website didnt show the late information and the board at the airport also wasnt updated till 1AM. The Delhi flight got delayed by 5 hours which meant that I would miss my chicago flight. I went to the AI Assistance window in IGI Airport Delhi. I explained my problem to one person. He disappeared. Then again another person came and asked the problem. He also disappeared. This happened 3 times.
When I lost my patience I went inside at the check in counter and told the problem. The AI Employee who was an idiot sitting there said all other flights are booked and to come tomorrow in the same slot. He had not even verified if there were flights available.
I then completely lost it. When I talked to another man there who was re-routing passengers he gave me and my wife a BA flight. Delhi - Heathrow - Chicago. When we started walking towards the BA counter, once Ai person came and stopped us and said that BAwill not let us go. I said that AI said the tickets are confirmed. He said there is some problem. Then we waited and waited spoke to the Duty Manager and asked him to upgrade my ticekt to Business class. They didnt agree. finally the manager sent one person to Lufthansa to check for seats. We then got the delhi - munich - chicago flight.
I had gone to the airport at 12AM. It was 5 Am by now.
But all in all. Let me just say that air india is the worst airline, in terms of ehtics, professionalism. I remember that when I was standing at the window outside, one AI idiot was telling his collegaue which I over heard... "yeh toh wohi chicago wala hai. isko kuch bol ke hotel bhej dey". What kind of behaviour is this.
All in all I can say that AI employs the worst kind of people who have not been trained of showing the basic courtesy to Passengers. All the employees there are worthless and incapable of any kind of job. Air India is a LOSER Airline. Will advice every one NOT to travel air india ever.
