Once the pride of the Intenational aviation industry- Air India (AI) is gone to dumps. Untrained / unprofessional counter staff, old procedures, sometime insensitive inflight crew, old equipment--aircrafts, the best inflight food, the worlds best pilots that is what AI is all about.
Customer service and relations are not much to talk about. It is just another 'Sarkari' venture. No imagination, initative or achievement. Late departures, late arrivals, missed baggage, unfriendly flight crew, casual behaviour..nothing much to write back home and no wonder the NRIs are hesitant to take another chance on this once pride of the country.
I found the counter staff in Delhi & Mumbai without uniforms and utterely confused--untrained. No inflight entertainment in Los Angeles / Frankfurt sector-in Business class.. system not functioning so no AV for 13 hours. Not few but most seats in business class not able to recline due to electrical failure etc.
Well it is old equipment and this will only change with induction of new aircrafts. AI has the spirit and if they want, the same crew / staff can regain old glory. That is what we want in our Airline.. the Proud and loving Maharaja.. I am sure there will be a turnaround and very soon it will be once again when Air India will rule the international aviation scene
