I travelled from Delhi-Mumbai by'J' class, by AI-309.
There were only a half a dozen of passengers in this class for this night flight.
The in-flight air-hostess attending the'J' class served me Non-Veg food, even after I requested for Veg Dinner.
When I tried to check with the other gentleman serving'J' class, he was not sure, whether the food served to me was Veg or Non-Veg; because, the food was served in an open ceramic bowl, without any indication / sticker, whether the food is Veg(with a green dot) or Non-veg. I presumed that when I requested for Veg food, they might be serving me Veg food only, so started eating the same without any doubt.
Consuming this Non-veg food(which I am not habituated, from the day I was born) created stomach upset and health problems for more than a couple of days, and disturbance from my work schedules and creating other inconveniences.
Finally the air hostess(the senior old lady) came to me after quite some delay and tried to serve the Veg Dinner. By that time, I ate half the food, and got a doubt only when there was some hard bathroom slipper like material, (supposed to be an uncooked pieces of chicken, as told by the cabin crew, appeared midway in the cooked rice bowl), which I never tasted in my life.
I am flying IA and AI for more than 12 years and this time I was quite unhappy with the response of the AI staff on the whole, both at New Delhi airport and in-flight as well.
I sent the feed back to their corporate office, but they tried to defend their actions and never bothered to compensate me for the lapses, nor bothered to call me for clarifications.
