I watched this movie today. Cast include Soha Ali Khan and Abhay Deol in the lead. This movie is minus foreign locations, item numbers etc. A very simple movie with modest settings.
The story centers around Ankush [Abhay Deol] who makes a living by acting as a witness in the marriage registrar's office in Delhi. Megha [Soha Ali Khan] has run away from her home in Nainital to marry her love Dheeraj [Shayan Munshi]. But Dheeraj doesn't turn up at the office.
Ankush helps Megha get a job at an old age home.Ankush realizes that the Rs. 10,000 loan he had taken for Megha's sake was causing him troubles. He ends up as a bank's representative who opens savings accounts at a commission. Ankush feels that he has changed because of Megha who keeps encouraging him.
A relationship develops between the two and Megha decides to leave her past and Dheeraj behind and marry Ankush. At this point, Dheeraj returns. He is persistent in his search for Megha.
Won't tell you the rest!! The way the story ends might be debatable but I would agree with the end.
Soha Ali Khan looks simply teriffic in Indian clothes. She has a lovely homely face and enacts quite well. Abhay Deol plays his character well. The supporting cast also does reasonably well.
The storyline is pretty fine but slightly slow-paced(true to it's name). A few songs are unnecessary. It's got a feel of 1970's movies.
All in all, a good change from the star-studdied, overhyped movies of this year.
