Let me first clarify that the 'Agrawal Classes' I am going to talk about are the ones from Dadar who claim that They have no branch!

Being a current student of Agrawal, I feel that I will be able to portray the current situation of this reputed institution.

Agrawal Classes has entered the 50th year, but continues its job of imparting education maintaining the same standard of education.

The first day, we have the Principal, Mr. G. D. Agrawal going to each and every class giving instructions and developing a rapport for a bond which has a long way to go.

~~PRE-ADMISSION PROCEDURE~~

You have to fill in a form after the SSC results are out, and you have to attach a xerox copy of the marksheet. Agrawal classes allows students above a certain limit of marks in Science and Maths. The limit is subject to change and is generally 280 marks above for SSC students.

Then, on the basis of the entries received, they display the 'lists', and there may be a change in the cut-off marks, which raised to 282 this year.

If you fall in this category, it is now time to pay the fees in two instalments. The procedure of paying the fees is extremely well-planned. No long queues, no sweaty faces; the procedure at Agrawal resembles the procedure of withdrawing money from a bank. You are asked to wait in a waiting room, and so, there are practically no hardships, both to you and to them.

~~The First Day~~

The first day, as I have mentioned, witnesses an orientation given to the students which definitely motivates the students to decide their goal for the year.

The lectures begin from the first day itself, and continue throughout the vacations without any holiday, whatsoever

~~What I liked about the institution~~

  1. The profs are really cool, it is very difficult to decide which one of them is the best, cos all of them are really good.

  2. The concept of 'supplement' is quite innovative. For all those who do not know what it is, it is a sort of tutorial sheet, which has several blank spaces to be filled in by the students. Thus, these supplements are completed by the students themselves, which definitely helps them.

  3. The discipline of the class is really appreciable. The classes begin at 7.00 am and end at 1.30 sharp.. not a moment more or less.

  4. The homework given seems to be hefty but it indeed helps the students, and that is what makes Agrawal masters in 12th standard teaching!!

~~What I did not like~~

  1. The restriction on the use of cell phones is somewhat annoying. I think there is no problem in allowing the students to bring their cell phones, till they make it a point that the cell phones do not ring while the lectures are going on.

  2. The 'non-teaching' staff, as at every other institution is something which annoys you. The chaos created on the first day and the way it gets out of control for 'these' employees of the classes, is a fun by itself! lolz!

  3. The overcrowding in the premises is something which definitely has to be taken action against.

  4. Well, this may seem oversmart, but all you can find around u, is oily faces drenched in studies, and nobody talks while the lecture is on.. that s quite boring, isnt it?!!!

~~Ending up with the review~~

Summing up, I would say that Agrawal has fully lived upto my expectations leaving a certain areas.
