So why do we need to sweat to see the great Tajmahal..
The one things all foreign tourists have on their radar while in india and for some the only reason to visit India.
People who only go to kerala & goa come to north only to see this wonder of the universe.
How to go to Agra?
Take a Bus or Train from delhi or Go to a tour operator.
I prefer the train its low budget and hassle free...so whats the problem?
The problem starts on getting down at agra cant- thats what the railway station is called.
If you have a camera with you then it is sure that YOU are a tourist, and since you are as sweet as sugar the ants..(touts) come to you in one swoop pester you no end and tell you that the tajmahal is very far it will cost you just Rs.150 to go there. if you listen to them ...you are paying more than thrice the normal fare.
now you will be beseeched by every one to get into the vehicle..better get the vehicle at the prepaid section. You will still be bugged by the driver but he's the only one to bug you.So that some relief.
Once you reach the Taj, You need to frisked, checked till they are sure that you are not having any dangerous intentions towards the monument.
this means that you have to stand in the glaring, hot sun in a queue which streches half a Km till you are done...and yes no cell phones, food items but you can carry your basic camera.
Voila ...you are past the security now and you can enjoy the view..but you know you are already tired of standing in the sun for 2 hours and you just want to 'finish' the visit and go back to your hotel.
What about the Taj. its as exquisite as ever standing as a silent witness to all these. is this the way tourists are treated...They should see how it can be impoved.
