DATE: March 22, 2003

Destination:Agra

Mission:Come into contact with the most beautiful structure ever created by Mankind.

Transportation:My Cousin’s Maruti Zen (God Bless! For AC)

Time left: 4:30 a.m. (yes A.M! First time in my life I woke up that early)

Time Reached:Around 9:40 a.m. (I think!)

Hotel:The Trident (no its not Gum! It’s the name of the hotel)

~~~First Mission:Have Lunch (we had no breakfast!)~~~
Restaurant: The Park – Don’t go there! It was the worst food I have ever tasted! Plus bad service – it was so slow even if we were the only one in the whole restaurant. Sad….just sad!
~~~Second Mission: Agra Fort~~~

We park our car and what is this? I have at least 7 people attacking me with some things to buy and some tour guides and even the parking ticket guy.

Finally we make it to the entrance then we think to ourselves Hey! We should get a guide even if we are not going to listen to him.

We get a Tour Guide, Suraj….I am sorry what is it that you speak? Hindi? I don’t understand what are you saying.

While my cousins get stuck in the tour – I cleverly excuse myself from the tour and take some pictures of the beautiful scenery and fort and gardens. .

I meet some of my “bhai & Behen” (hahaha!) I mean there was an American Tour there so I introduced myself and made short conversations with some of them.

{I m good like that making conversations with strangers}

It’s hot! But I still have fun! (shocking faces all around now please me have fun in hot weather)

As the tour comes to an end and we exit the fort, I am again surrounded by sellers, aaahh I actually bought everything from each person.

If any person said to me: “madam kharid lijiye” – my ans. Was “ bhaiya sab kuch to kharid liya hai ab sirf yeh fort kharidna baki hai”

~~~Third Mission: Araam Time!~~~
Reach the hotel- take shower- take rest- catch a little nap if you are lucky (meaning if I m around you can’t sleep)
~~~Forth Mission: Taj Mahal( how can you go to Agra and not go to Taj Mahal)~~~

For those who have been stuck in their room all their lives –

What is Taj Mahal?

Taj Mahal in Agra, India is the greatest symbol of love on this planet. Taj Mahal is incomparable to any other monument in the world. Taj Mahal - the symbol of love and romance. Taj Mahal was build by Shah Jahan’s men in his wife’s memory, Mumtaz.

Although, I had been to Taj Mahal when I was about 7 years old. But I wanted to go back and actually remember it. As you enter the gates you see a glimpse of Taj Mahal. You just feel something….as if you are in presence of something so special or unreliable.

It was a nice weather so we had so much fuN! We enjoyed ourselves – running on the marble floor of Taj Mahal, jumping around, racing with my cousin sisters, laugh so loud…we were the loudest people there. We became everybody attention. With me having so much fun! I felt like I was a young little girl (5 years old)

Soon it was getting dark, and Taj Mahal was closing so we had to leave…

After leaving Taj Mahal, we went to shopping, basically I bought 2 small Taj Mahal structure.

Went to Dinner (can’t remember the restaurant’s name) but the food was much better then that PARK.

We were in no mood to sleep…so we went to the hotel and laid by the pool and looked around the beautiful garden fountains. It was a very pretty site with nobody around…

~~~Fifth Mission: Get Home by the time WORLD CUP starts~~~
We checked out of the hotel after eating breakfast and made our way to the road. With all of us singing Cricket songs i.e “Humko Hai Pura Yaakein” to “Ae Eye O”
Reached just in time to watch the WORLD CUP….
can u imagine me with no interest in cricket had to be rushed out of the beautiful Agra for stupid cricket game.
Don’t you just feel sorry for me ;-(
Anyways, as I finished all the missions a.k.a our trip to Agra came to an end with a sad note…India lost~! (world cup)
MY trip to Agra is added in my most memorable trips of all time. I plan to have more of these kind of trips next time I go to India.
If you are not sure how much I had fun in this Trip! Take a look at some of my Agra Pics!
