I used Agarwal Packers and Movers twice.
First time, the experience was much better, at least at the time of packing. This time car was not involved as I drove the car myself.
THE GOOD
1.The staff was good and polite.
2.Their packing material was good.
THE BAD
1.There were only two guys for packing. They knew very well how much stuff I have. They should have sent more people for packing.
2.They promised that everything will be done by 4pm. But finished after 11pm
3.I had opted for an insurance of 3 lakhs. Once the packing was complete, they handed over a form which had a list of all the boxes they created. Around 70 of them. And I was asked to declare value of all the boxes individually, ensuring that the total is 3 lakhs.
INSANE! I had no idea what has gone in which box, except the obvious ones like TV, Fridge, AC, etc.
THE UGLY
- In Delhi, I called them up about delivery and unpacking. The stuff was already in their warehouse. Confirmed Saturday 10am time. Informed them that I am vacating the hotel and won’t have a place to sleep if they don’t deliver and unpack. Final result. I went to the empty apartment I had just booked. Called them up multiple times. New excuses every time. Finally, they did not show up. I was in empty apartment for the whole day, just waiting waiting waiting. And then, in the night, went out looking for a hotel to sleep. They eventually deliver and unpackaged the next day. No major damages to anything fortunately.
Now story of the second move.
This time the distance was longer, Delhi to Pune. I again went for Agarwal, as the distance was longer. The car has to be moved as well this time.
THE GOOD
1.Transportation of car was smooth. No damages or any other problems.
THE BAD
1.The packaging supervisor was rude and irritating. After an hour or so, I had to call up their customer care to complain. He was warned by his managers etc, and they he became gentle.
2.Packaging material was bad. But the way he was packing this was horrible. There were four people involved, and it was obviously not possible to keep an eye on everyone.

THE UGLY
1.Delivery was again a nightmare. They again had excuses, and did not deliver on Saturday after confirming. This time I was prepared and had not checked out from the hotel I was staying in. Same story repeated.
2.I had lot of minor damages to the products. Now, for example, if one of the mugs out of my 6 mugs set is broken, my whole set is useless. But they will pay for only one mug, that too after applying depreciation.
3.One of my table's polish was damaged, just because that stupid guy at Delhi had used a tape on it. They sent a carpenter the next WEEK after tens of calls, and he used a cleaning liquid to clean the table, which again left a mark. Well, I can go on and on about small small things which made me go crazy. Even after one month of following up, I had lot of things not fixed or replaced.
Oh yes, and the labourers will ask for insane tips, like 1500, 2000 Rs. They will try to scare you indirectly by saying that “not everything is covered by insurance, we will take good care of stuff” etc.
