I got my items packed in Hyderabad on 30th July (GC no: hyd001268) to move to Delhi. I took an insurance of only 1 lac in order to keep the insurance value under check and thinking that chances of breaking is limited with such reputed packers. Everything was fine in Hyderabad. When it was delivered from go-down on 11th August in Dwarka, we found few things broken like a marble temple, lamp stand, photo frames. Even though those cost much more, since my insurance was less, I had to put a much smaller figure to each of the 65 boxes that they created in hyd to make a cumulative value of 1 lac.
Accordingly they came up with a value of 2700/- that I should get. Today is 1st Sept and I am yet to receive their amount. Consider the fact that they make you pay full payment before it starts from origin. Now that is not the most horrible part. Insurance is only about the damaged items. There is no accountability for missing items. The delivery boys would take away the boxes with them. Along with the empty boxes, they can take away other items if you can not oversee everything. We took little lightly considering the good reputation of Agarwal packers. Now with time we are getting to know about more and more of missing items. New packed Mochi shoes, school shoes (both black and white), duckback raincoat, leather camel showpiece, folding ceiling cleaner, etc could not be found even though those were packed in front of me. It's just 3 weeks, so we didn't require many things yet. I am sure with time we will discover many more missing items. On top of that the delivery boys are never happy with with the amount of tips you give. Since the company charges a lot for shifting, they are supposed to pay their delivery staff well enough so that they don't bug clients.
God knows when they pay for the broken items. Already called their Mumbai office who noted down the complaint. Called the concerned person in Delhi few times on 955528xxxx and heard certain approvals were pending and was supposed to be done last Monday when I called last week.
Advice: thoroughly check boxes before delivery boys leave. Have same experience with these guys like what I had in local shifting earlier. ThereIi lost jeans pants, chappals. Here packing materials are more and you stand a chance to lose more. Few items can go hidden in those boxes!
