Dont Complain !! Act !!
Nov 14, 2006 02:59 PM 6474 Views

*SCENARIO 1:

*I have cancelled my ABN AMRO credit card 3 years back. I have cut the card to 4 pieces and along with the cancellation request letter, sent to Delhi, also later got the confirmation that it was received, (they were offering new card). Now, 2 days back I got a call from Delhi telling that I have a due of about Rs. 5000+.  When I told I have cancelled it, he told "it is not updated in the database, hence you have to pay this amount"! (For their mistake, I have to pay!)

*SCENARIO 2:

*i had paid my bill by cheque on time but later I got the bill with 700 Rs fine slapped saying that my cheque bounced due to some, God knows what, reasons.

I kept complaining and mailing them for 2 weeks and then finally  I had to pay back the money.

Similar type of cases r very very common.

As our dependencies on the Plastic money has increased, so are the new new problems and complexities arising out of it.

Wrong billing is the most common and prevailing complain amongst all credit card users.

then comes the hidden charges and other complains.

U can complain to their customer care but chances r very less for the relief.

as most of their staffs r untrained who keep on chanting same phrases which they have been taught.

So is there any higher body who will listen up to us?

yes, thankfully it is.

*The RBI.

*i have just got information about how can we complain about credit card related problems.

although I havent used it for complaining til now, but we can keep note of it for future backup.

Now you can solve your credit card issues through Ombudsman(a statutory body appointed by RBI to accept grievances against banks and their services).

You can file a complaint online also @ https://bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in

Note: Before registering the complaint make sure that you have reported the complaint in the service providing bank(against whom you will complain).

For more info have a look on these below links
