I had to write this review on Advaith Hyundai, Bannerghatta Road, after a series of bad experiences I had with them over the last 1.5 months. Here are the sequence of events that happened right from the delivery day…
The car was ready as promised on the delivery date(Jul 23, 2010). When I went to check the car on that day, I found that the horn was not fitted properly to the steering. When I checked with the service engineers, they opined that all cars have the gap. I had to take them around the showroom where other cars were displayed and made them aware that there was a problem with the horn. They insisted I take the vehicle delivery and get it back if I faced problem. I drove the car for a couple of days and anyone who sat in the car observed this gap. It was so obviously evident, and I was surprised how Advaith’s service engineers could not figure this out. I took the car after 3 days to get it replaced and they replaced the entire horn unit.
During the initial talks and the delivery process, I was told by the Sales Executive that, if I sold my old car(Maruti 800) to anyone(within one month of registration of my new vehicle) and handed over the copy of papers(RC Book) back to Advaith, I will be paid a bonus of Rs. 15, 000/-. I went to Advaith to handover the papers of my old car that I sold to a friend of mine, within 21 days of purchase of my new vehicle and to my surprise the same Sales Executive and the Manager tell me that I had to fill up a form during the purchase of the new vehicle that I will be submitting the papers of my old car. How on earth does Advaith expect me to know this process? There was always a verbal commitment that I will handover the papers to Advaith and they will pay me the bonus. Since last one month, I have been following up with the Advaith Manager and the Sales Executive to check the status of the bonus amount and all I hear from them is ‘your case is under process. We will get back to you shortly’.
There was a minor accident on a NH and I had to handover the car for insurance claim. The repair of the car took one day, but the insurance process(thanks to HDFC Ergo), took 7 days. Also, the parts on either side of my car were damaged and the insurance guys did not cover for the right side as they claimed the damage to the right side happened during another instance. It can’t get stupid than this…
After the vehicle was handed over to me post-repair, I noticed that the accelerator pedal was loose. Also, the bonnet was not fitted properly. I had to take the vehicle again twice to get these rectified.
I had got the central locking and the Auto cop installed from Advaith when I purchased the car. In 1.5 months, the Auto cop stopped working due to circuit problem and they had to replace this.
What surprised me is, whenever I approach Advaith with a problem, they first say “This is how all cars are coming now”. I have to take pains to explain them by showing them their own cars placed in the showroom to identify the defect after which they start acting. I would strongly recommend not to visit Advaith Hyundai in Bannerghatta Road if you have decided to buy a Hyundai vehicle.
