Finally I watched Adipurush, Could not dare to go to cinema hall after reading the reviews but OTT blessed us. Filmmaking has come all the way in last few decades at the same time efforts of fooling has also perched up. The filmmakers are making everything what they can imagine and of course they must do it also as filmmaking is all about taking creative freedom and being artistic. There are many filmmakers who have been taking this creative liberty along and have made certain masterpiece.

The problem starts when a filmmaker lacks the intelligence to create a story and gets “inspired” with one. That inspiration calls for certain modification and then a perfect Bollywood masala is prepared. Now the audiences who are generally seeking entertainment in every movie gets it somehow and the movie becomes a hit. This has been a usual practice for core Bollywood.

Now, when the film business had become amazingly profitable business the production houses wanted to make more and more of it, due to this race the quantity outpaced creativity. People were getting bored with routine Swiss shootings. To fill this gap the Bollywood gets tilted towards anything which is controversial. Societal and religious stories are one of those topics.

Now let’s come back to Adipurush. The movie is on ok and less then one time watch. Beginning with the actors I must say that Prabhas have those emotions in his eyes, but we need to understand that Lord Ram was quite more than tear eyes always. It reminded me of those movies which always shown freedom fighters only crying and no one bothered to show their courageous side. Ram was a leader which side is not shown much in the movie. The basic problem is that the filmmakers need to understand that Epics like Ramayana & Mahabharat are something which can not be told in 180 minutes. The scale is so grand that it needs a few episodes, probably that is why none of the earlier filmmakers tried to venture into this. In a 3 hours movie you can only show a part of which was tried well by few South Indian filmmakers. Kriti Sanon was just a cry baby, this was never the only virtue of Maa Sita. Saif Ali Khan was okayish.

The VFX were really bad, the money spend on it went in vain and even a lot of You Tubers do better VFX then this. Sets were all copied, and the director’s vision of Lanka shows that they don’t believe Iin the Great Indian culture and its lavishness. This annoys me a lot when most of the directors now a days try to Romanize Indian epics. The cloths the maneuver and everything is just westernized. Music was one surprise element for me. Lyrics were good and special the Sachet has done magic in singing “Ram Siya Ram” amazingly executed. It goes straight to heart.

At last, I can say that the director was in a hurry to tell the story and that killed the script. The screenplay went haywire.

Hoping for better movies in coming days.
