I had a premature finish to my Diwali Celebrations as I had to reach the theatre by 10 to watch 'Action Replayy'- A movie which has a bit of everything- Romance, Emotions, Drama, Comedy, Action, Dance, Sci-fi and lots of Akshay Kumar(Nothing surprising though). As every other 'Akshay Kumar'-film, U need not worry too much about the logistics of the film. Just sit back and enjoy the plot unfold into a hilarious yet emotional drama-A decent entertainer.

Plot:

Kishen(Akshay Kumar) and Mala(Aishwariya Rai) have a turbulent marital life and although they have stayed with each other for quite a long time but they do not have any love for each other and they lead separate lives under the same roof. Their marital life is on the verge of falling apart when their Son Bunty(Aditya Roy Kapoor) decides to reverse everything by going into the past with the help of a Time Machine designed by Randhir kapoor and have them fall for each other before they actually get married. What follows is an entertaining anecdote of how he changes a weak, timid, low-on-confidence Akshay Kumar into a confident and stylish hunk and evading all competition from rival Kundan(Ranvijay Singh), makes Aishwariya Rai fall for him.

My two cents:

The movie never promised to be a laugh riot and it is not. It's a light-hearted comedy with flashes of emotional drama inducted in it. Some funny dialogues, some august performances, some heart-touching moments, some dance sequences make sure that the movie is a decent One-Time-Watch. There are some really funny one-liners by Akshay and Rajpal which make the audience giggle. But what pegs the movie back is the predictable storyline. If you are a big bollywood buff, you can actually anticipate the next scene. There are no real flashy moments in the movie to keep the audience on the edge of the seat and this is what makes the movie to be just above average rather than phenomenal.

Performances:

The movie basically revolves around 3 people- Akshay, Ash and Aditya. Akshay is First-Rate and holds the movie together from starting through end without which it would have been very difficult to hold the audience attention for the entire duration. He proves once again that inspite of a few of his movies bombing at the Box Office recently, he still is one of the Best in the Business. Ash looks glamorous and beautiful as ever and does a decent job. Aditya also does a good job. The rest of the cast might not have delivered an overwhelmingly stupendous performance but they do not dissappoint either. Everyone has played his part with utmost honesty.

Music:

Music is certainly not outstanding but not bad either. 'Zor ka Jhatka' has become quite popular over the last few weeks. The other numbers are just fine.

Rating:

I would go for 3/5 for this movie for Akshay, Aditya, Ash and the comedy.
