I brother was happy to get one Acer. Everything was fine until after two weeks, the laptop went off. It didn't take charge even. He contacted the dealer, he promptly told him that their service person will call back. But 24 hours, no calls. He called back.....and the story went on, finally after five days one person spoke to him & made him do some vague things like taking out the battery then putting it back..but nothing happened. The dealer's place is 100 kms from my place. So after a week my brother took it to him...then a week, a fortnight of followup leaded to a reply "your motherboard has crashed, you must have dropped your laptop, so you have to pay some 18, 000/-...."
It was a kind of harassment. Finally my bro could get it re-done under warranty after paying Rs.5, 000/- undertable to the service guy. It's been like having got cheated..But now my brother is happy with his Compaq machine, after having disposed off the Acer one..
