Aadhi - Blood gore and revenge. Review on Aathi Movie

This is the next vijay film in action packed masala ''athi' a telugu remake starring with his favorite heroine trisha.

The story is 1980's revenge drama 'beaten to death story of avenging on the dadas single handedly for destroying one's family ''. You see blood, sickles and gun firing in all directions.

Prakashraj is a police commissioner living with his siblings in a big house as a joint family. he brushes with Saikumar for some criminal case and ultimately his family is destroyed excepting trisha, nasser and vijay escaping. both go on different line unaware of each others existence and grow up with the revenge attitude. By the end of the movie they get to know each other and vijay kills the villain predictably.

Good ness about the movie: Typical vijay movie without any kuthu song with popular heroine or intro song with vijay dancing with 50 coartists is the variation. While remaking vijay ensures that it is an exact copy with his formula applied neck deep. he maintained the same tempo with variation in dialogue delivery and coloring his hair. Villain is different and is really frightening . good villain selection. Trisha is goinna join the club of devayani and sonia agarwal for having a long sad face ever. good dialogues . The scenes and dialogues while rescuing a suicide guy in the railway track, Saikumar admiring vijays anecdote and telling that '' if one has kill or to be killed it should be in the hands of AAthi'' is really punching. So hero and villain are given equal pace for punch dialogues. the family drama of prakash raj and vijay and trisha enjoying in the city library bringing the memories of their childhood days are really touching and good. Saikumar is far better than ashish and pasupathy. Prakashraj role was good and very captivating. Vijay choping Abdullas neck during intermission was really breathtaking. The way one of saikumars gundas killed by point blank shot and how others react were bit funny. On the whole the movie is very serious with tempo and gripped with nativity inspite of Telugu remake.Except for saikumar all other villains look like caricature

Demerits of the movie - Saikumar who is depicted as RDX and with big throat and bulging eyes has just handful of gundas while chasing vijay in the climax. Initially he is on the hut for vijay but later when he comes to his house he just admires him and lets him off. Everyone includijng hereo, villain, heroine are screaming at a high decibel with repeatition of words. Rajan P dev is not at all used to the max. Songs are placed inappropriatly and totally out of place with not too catchy music. Usually in Vijay movies songs used to be a sure hit but here its a flop.One college guy takes snaps of girls and vijay kicks him . this too is irrelevant. After the abduction the way trisha expresses her anxiety is too kiddish and funny . the whole broke on the way she enacted that scene ''Aaadhi neenga dhan enn mama vaaaaaaa''.

So vijay needs to give a quick change on his way of presentation and its a high time he needs to take a different path on his career. Most of his Remake movies had been flops - badri, shahjahan, Geethai, kannukul nilavu. He has good potential , dance movements, fighting, comedy (dialogu delivery need to be improvised with modulation). The best thing about the movie is that there is no family song which hero and heroine memorised it in their childhood days and recite it in crowded places and then join hands tearfully. Having Ice cream in landmark is trying to replace the family song :-)
