This review is a little late but nevertheless, something new was found. This is NOT an original movie. The original English movie is Tangled.

ABA received maximum publicity of the five movies that were released together:

  1. Pyaar Mein Twist

  2. Aashiq Banaya Aapnay

  3. Dansh

  4. Ramji Londonwale

  5. Kal - Yesterday and Tomorrow (The best of them)

May be because of its superb soundtrack, the movie did get all the attention it didn't deserve. While it was good to see movies releasing that were not typical Bollywood stories, the goodness was shortlived when it was found that the movie was not original.

The original English movie Tangled stars Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, the coach from Bend It Like Beckham. Emraan takes up his role. Shawn Hatosy (played by Sonu) is the 'good friend' of the Female lead, Rachael Leigh Cook played by Tanushree in the Hindi version.

Even if anyone did not like the Hindi version of Tangled, you are sure to fall in love with the English original version for more than a few reasons.

The three protagonists played their part to perfection, transmitting the characters' complex web of emotional roller coasters that often accompanies College Life, Best Friendships, Love Triangles and Betrayals.

The story line is amazing and keeps you on the edge every moment and the ending is even better. The ending was spoilt in the Hindi version. In fact, according to most reviews, the entire movie was spoilt.

The reason why people are not 'aware' of Tangled is due to the fact that it was released only on a DVD (interesting marketing strategy which is yet to invade India).

The English version also starts in a hospital with the actors in ICU. The flashbacks are amazing. But the ending is the best in which Shawn (the original friend of the female lead) proves that what did not happen is what they went through and walks out with Rachael Leigh Cook, who is unable to recollect what happened and therefore, trusting the lying friend. The story was stunning, the flashbacks were amazing and the ending was the icing on the cake.

The Hindi version was everything other than these adjectives. Hopefully, we will make such good movies or at least copy neatly. It's a pity that such movies get so much attention while original good movies like Kal - Yesterday and Tomorrow go unnoticed at the box office though it’s a good movie.

If you wish to watch Tangled, you must get yourself a copy of the DVD and the chances are you won't find them in an Indian store. The best way to watch the original classic is to buy one from US or wait for the re-run on HBO, whichever comes first.
