Okay, so, why on earth did I watch this movie? Well, because it seemed like a good idea at the time, much like the time I took out a movie starring Usher and hoped that it would be good but it turned out to be NOT so good coz of the really. No, wait a minute, I'm reviews The Wedding Date here.I mean Aap ki Kathir. So, let's dig in shall we?

*Plot:

*Not trying to be all funny or anything, but, basically the premise of the movie is exactly that of The Wedding Date. Okay, I'll try.

Okay, so Anu(Priyanka), is going to her sister Shirani's(Amisha) wedding. Thing is tho', the best man Danny(Dino), is her ex, whom she's still madly in love with. So she decides to hire an Aman(Akshaye) and pretend that he's her boyfriend to make Danny jealous.

A couple of songs, a deep secret that upsets everyone, and an embarassing encounter in a car later, the movie ends.whew, I felt like I was watching it again

*Cast:

Priyanka Chopra as Anu: **Don't get me wrong, I like this girl a lot, I mean, she brought us Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and that was a really nice movie. I loved her in Yakeen. So, when I bought this

(burst into tears of regret), I thought I was getting a nice entertaining movie. This woman irritated me from the beginning to the end of the movie. By the time Danny came on, I completely understood why he dumped her, I mean, if that's how Anu really was. Anyway, moving on

Amisha Patel as Shirani:The less said about this lass, the better. I have NO idea what she did in the movie, except simper and sidle up to her oh-so-loving fiancee, whom she had more than eh, ZERO chemistry with.

Akshaye Khanna as Aman:This dude is the ONLY actor I found tolerable in the whole movie. This dude is good at what he does and one wonders if he was doing someone a favour by acting in this movie. He was such a misfit, I wanted to yank him out of the movie through the TV screen.only coz, I know he's better than this movie

Dino Morea as Danny:Okay, this boy is hot, anyone who says otherwise is blind(ha ha). But, I have to say, giving smouldering looks to the camera everytime the directors says "ACTION", does not a good actor make. I'm still trying to find a movie with him in it that I can watch without cringing, I mean, I would like to see one without a single cringe.aaaaahhh, he's THAT bad.

Sunil Shetty as Kunal:Okay, I sort of like Sunil Shetty. Yes, there are some cringe-worthy films of his, but generally, he's a good actor. My main problem with his role is that they made him to be so whipped, all he did was stare at his simpering fiancee and make her simper and bat her eyelids even more. He was hardly on the screen to begin with! Plus, no matter what the star quality of an actor is, getting a 40-something year old in the role of googly-eyed love sick puppy is NOT a good idea!

The rest of the cast was okay at best, although I like Anupam Kher as the daddy, dodgy movie or not, this man can still make HIS role watchable, I especially liked his scenes with Akshaye.

*Diagnosis:

*All I can say is, if you've watched The Wedding Date and you fancy a repeat performance in a different language, then this movie is for you. If, however, like me you wanted to claw whoever came up with this idea's eyes out, then rather go have another go at watching TWD, and STAY AWAY from this one. It's not so much that it was a copy that got my goats, coz, I really couldn't care less what was copied from what, if the story's good. Borrowing from a particular movie, is all well and fine, but the fact that the dialogues were a direct lift for TWD, save for a few changes in scenery, made me want to spit in indignation. Couldn't they tweak them a bit? I mean hey, there are copies made left right and center, but at least some come with SOME originality.the dude or dudess, who came up with this one was just plain lazy.
