It all started when, Faisal was reported missing by his mother Zeenat and sister Nikhat Khan. Faisal was found in Lonavala, at a farm he allegedly has bought for the purpose of goat rearing. Often, at times things are never what they appear to be.

Faisal Khan, as averred by his family, was suffering from schizophrenia and was undergoing medical treatment at their residence. Faisal and his lawyers reacted to this as a noisome allegation and insist that he is being framed.

He was produced in Court a few days later with his lawyer, S A Wasid who told TOI, “Faisal sent a letter to the Khar police on October 12, 2007, stating that he is leaving his house as he wants to be on his own. The family then filed a missing complaint on October 13, 2007 with the same police station.” Wasid added, “Faisal’s father, who was asked to be in court, refused to attend it alleging that if he does so his financiers will withdraw from helping him for his next film.”(Imagine a fathers refrain from helping his ailing son, DISGUSTING)

Incidentally their father Tahir Hussain had re married and was living separately with his second wife.

However, paranoid schizophrenia is a condition that is treatable and is NOT akin to being ‘mad’ or ‘unstable’ as screamed the headlines and AAMIR, unnecessarily.

Faisal insisted that his brother Aamir had forcibly kept him captive and had been ingesting him with medication to ‘drive him mad’.

In the rather public and increasingly ugly battle between his actor sons, Tahir Hussain sided with Faisal Khan and blamed Aamir and his wife, Kiran, for creating a rift in the family. Tahir supported Faisal’s charge that Aamir has been force feeding him medicines for paranoid schizophrenia when he has no such medical condition. Tahir also declared that Faisal would stay with him and not with Aamir. A court in Bandra would decide on Faisal’s custody.

Privacy in the matter would have been ideal for the family already burdened with tragedy and stress. However . Stardom is an albatross rarely shakable.

I have met Faisal, personally, on a few occasions. He was charming, lively with a bright, contagious smile. We were neighbors., so to speak. living in the same locality. I could never have even remotely, imagined this sudden reversal of circumstances. It saddens, even if it is a vicariously experienced emotion.

31st Oct 07: Unfortunate that life placed a son and father in such an opposing stance that both started exposing private details which was rather embarrassing. Aamir Khan for the first time spoke out against his father via the response in his affidavit:

“To my understanding my father is on the verge of becoming insolvent. He is incapable of looking after Faisal financially or emotionally. Throughout my brother’s treatment, my father has not made any effort to even meet the doctors treating Faisal. If my father is saying that Faisal is of ‘sound mind’ then where is the question of him getting my brother’s custody.”

Doctors confirmed through medical reports that Faisal Khan was suffering from Paranoid Schizophrenia and  needed medical attention. Tahir Hussain declared on national television ‘Aamir mera nalayak beta hai…woh mujhe baap nahin maanta main bhi usse beta nahin maanta”. A family feud was so ugly that was talked about at every ‘nukkad’.

The court allowed Faisal’s plea to be heard. Faisal categorically refused to stay with Aamir Khan or his mother. He accused aamir of mistreating him, keeping him prisoner and forcing him to take medications.

Considering, Faisal’s condition would worsen if situation was aggravated by compelling him to live with Aamir, the court temporarily for a month handed over Faisal’s custody to Tahir Hussain.

Tahir Hussain and his second wife made some statements, accusing Aamir of being mentally unstable, torturing Faisal and Aamir sabotaging Faisal’s career. For one month from then, faisal had to report to J.J.Hospital every 14 days since his illness had been proven.

Sadly, a weak patriarch almost always leads the family to ruins. Tahirs second marriage, Aamirs second marriage, Aamirs sister Nikhats third marriage and a rather pitiable figure of Zeenat Aamirs mother who has lost her husband and son with one stroke of fate speaks of a family unmoored and struggling against the storms of life.

What was disgusting was the family decision over the well being of a sick son was thrown into the hands of an impersonal judge.

2nd Nov: The entire family of Aamir showed solidarity with him and gave a public statement.

This was expected though not desirable. By then, aamir has completely washed his hands off Faisal Khan(though not fully because till date, he continues ransacking faisals stand to run his life) and in retribution expected his father to shoulder responsibility for Faisal which will in the long run be detrimental to Faisals health.

Aamir ought to have continued to show restraint and maturity that he had so far exemplified. But family pressure, maybe his wife Kiran probably inciting a reactionary stance had led to this new development. WHAT A SHAME.

14th Nov: As predicted Faisal Khan had moved out of his father Tahir Hussains residence as well, where he had been ordered to stay for a month.  He then lived alone in Chembur.

16th Dec: Fate takes a U-turn, Aamir patches up with father. Tahir Hussain requested the court to grant custody of Faisal khan to Aamir Khan since he was unable to look after him.

19th Dec: Faisal and his daily routine. Nothing much

17th Feb 08: Court grants independence to Faisal Khan which translates, Aamir loses battle for Faisals custody.

Aamir lost the legal battle for custody of Faisal as a local court held that Faisal need not be in anybody’s custody and can live anywhere he wants, but required regular medication. Faisal, a one-time actor himself, was suffering from schizo-affected psychosis, according to the government-run J J Hospital’s report.

The court decreed that Faisal be allowed to live on his own but medication was mandatory.

24th Mar 08: Faisal's case against Aamir dismissed

Faisal filed a case against Aamir and some of his family members, regarding dispute over their ancestral property in Hardoi district of Uttar Pardesh. The charges levied were related to illegally selling off the assets of the ancestral property in Akhtiyarpur village of the Shahabad Tehsil in Hardoi district. Court sent a notice to all the concerned people named by Faisal.

However, Aamir and his family lawyer, Ramanand Shukla, filed a reply. The civil judge(senior division), Ghulam-Ul-Madaar, then accepted that the property gifted to Faisal under the Muslim Personal Law provision, 'Hiba', did not make Faisal the sole owner of the same. He subsequently dismissed the case.

Today:Faisal filed a case against Big Boss 2.(I shall include a separate write-up on this soon)

Why is it that the world is after Faisal always? OR is it that he is after the world, to get noticed. The saga continues and is yet unresolved. WHO LET DA DOGS OUT!

It is sad that the two brothers just cant be loving enough, just like salman, arbaaz and sohail, who are so united despite of every toss and turn around their lives. It is a shame that AAMIR wants to brand THINK INDIA and not THINK himself nor lead his family to a safe and happy living.
