During his initial years, I liked him. With passing days, he proved he
is versatile. But today I know him as an arrogant actor who is full of
himself.
An artist truly understands the amount of soulful dedication and
spiritual thinking that goes to make a creation, even the smallest
creation. If nothing else, we should be considerate to say an
appreciative word or two about the work of other artists. Actors are
artists in their own right. But Amir Khan is one actor or artist I
have never seen appreciating any other current day actor. He,
undoubtedly, is a good actor but no better than the extraordinary
league we have today. The industry has better dancers than him.
Equally amazing artists who emote so well on the screen and capable of
underplaying their role, which is the most difficult aspect of acting.
I remember when asked if he thinks Devdas will be nominated for the
Oscars, he simply said he had his reservations. Why? I think just like
Lagaan, Devdas, too, was a masterpiece. The director worked hard to
paint a grand and luxurious India meshed well with a memorable tale of
love. When asked to comment about Lakshay, he yet again, was not
appreciative. Whereas Lakshay was one of the few nationalistic movies
that did not come with the screaming and shouting of patriotic
overdose and yet effectively communicated the message. It was, indeed,
a brilliantly executed movie.
I don't even find Amir Khan possessing an intellectual level that
everybody seems to be talking about. Let's just stop overrating
actors, calling their egotism their intelligence and remarks, an
example of their high intelligence quotient. If Amir Khan is a good
actor then we have equally good actors who are more appealing because
of the respect they give to other actors and the modesty they have.
