It is not easy to inform and enlighten the people through the medium as Press-Communication , as an Interface between the government and the public has become highly professionalized now.


Mission or business :


Gone are the days when this was considered as a Mission as now it is more a Business .


Aaj-Tak , 24 hrs channel in Hindi is just one year old….. and has become the “channel no. one” . This channel rise in popularity – graph as initially it stayed away from all the clever-tactics of the highly professionalized path …and made an imprintable mark on the psyche of the common masses with it’s “Objective news coverage. I watch this channel to have a cursory glance at AAJ-TAK headlines. Other programmes of interests are - Sidhi-baat , cinema aaj-tak or an expert discussion on different topics.


Why to watch this:


If you want to improve your knowledge about varied range of products !!!!!! as it is evident from its growing affinity towards advertisements and slants in the news…..


Golden Key to unlock the locked information:


· If the message and information is given in fair standards as proper presentation means winning more than half the battle.


· Objectivity and fair dissimination of Information is essential to create INFORMED CITIZENARY .


· Remember, NEWS IS NOT MADE IT IS CREATED !!


· Survival of the fittest rule is not applicable to the Exception as Exception proves the rule.

Flaws:


· Issue of Qualitative contents vs advertisements. As it is widely accepted norm that “ the tree is known by its fruits”.


· When compared to its other competitors Aaj-tak displayed lack of vision to control its disgruntled position over issue of innovativeness and quality contents in News contents.


· Aaj-Tak News headlines sponsors are--------------very long list friends !!


Comparison with other key-players:


When compared with others competitors like-Star-News or Zee news ,I personally feels that Zee-tv is more or less rational in its outlook and with its moderate and balanced outlook its has still maintained its position in terms of fair –play of news regardless of its decreasing popularity among people. Did you remember the clever-ploy adopted by zee to oust its competitors by showing Exclusive Coverage on Defence-Scam of India (tehelka episode).


Star-News is an accepted channel till date just because of its Quality of news programmes and analysis based programmes. My favourites programmes on STAR-NEWS are- The Big Fight , We the People And Star-Talk .


Tough Times: Identity crisis:


Aaj-tak is also facing stiff competitions from the regional channels as well ….(launching of Eanadu tv ).


What is surprising is that DD is still matchless.
