I was contemplating what should I be sendingto me borthers son at Bangalore.I wanted to send him something which was not only flavourful but also healthy.
I was remined of ASAP snack bar that I bought off amazon India, that everyone at home relished . It has a thick layer of dark chocolate covered with rolled oats and rice crispies to pack in a lot of fiber / carbohydrates and protien .along with nuts ie almonds to further enhance the flavour, nuttiness and nutrition of the snack bar.
The name ASAP comes from keeping it as simple as possible while mainitning nutrition and taste . with No chemical preservatives or colors.
Dark bitter chocolate esp. if its 70% plus dark is anytime better than milk chocolate . Every bite is full of flavour and nutrition .and this is an opinion we all shared at home . So did my brothers son who recd the gift via courior .
Its available for Rs 180/- for a pack of 6. The pricing is very much justified for a 40 gm snack bar. dark chocolate is great for your teeth and your mood if you didnt know and is not obesogenic like its highly processed counterpart milk chocolate with high sugar and cocoa butter as fat. which is purely an excito-toxin just for taste-sake .
Almond is one of the most healthy nut, since its very low on fat, cholestrol and saturates and high on a protien punch .Thats why when it comes to dairy alternatives almond milk scores above soy and rice milk as well, maybe even above coconut milk as well.
The only reaosn I was not very happy with the snack bar is that too many rolled oats make it a little difficult to chew and the bar kind of becomes crumbly while eating and tends to come apart. Other wise its a great-2 product .which has repeat value .
The other bars I keep ordering are MOJO bar for protiens primarily and Yoga Bar as an energy bar; again off amazon India .
