While buying an inverter the most important thing more than back is an inverter that wont fail when you need it.
Without knowing much about inverters we happened to get an inverter from a battery shop, sadly the inverter did not last more than a week. After fighting for a refund, we were back in the market thats when I noticed apc, having seen their ups used in server rooms we decided to go for it, plus its build quality looked top notch and a two years swap warranty made us go ahead and buy it.
We got it in 2007 and it failed once due to a wiring issue made by the electrician, he forgot to isolate the washing machines line from the inverter line. Being the installers error apc replaced the inverter without any arguements.
The replaced inverter functioned well for the next 8 years. It was one of the quietest inverters I have seen althought not a sinewave fans still made a hum but comparitively less than other inverters.
Also gave us good back up times till the battery reached is end of life around 4 years, a new battery brought the back up back to original times.
The inverter features an over load protector which also has a reset and also gives you a fair idea on how muxh load is running there by allowing you to estimate and conserve.
After 8 years of great service unforrunatelt it failed and now apc not making inverters any more left us dissapointed however apc still provides service whixh is a good thing.
