Persistent problem of anomalous high data usage

I have been using ACT broadband(fibernet) connection from last 7-8 months. Every month I have been facing the issue of exceeding the FUP limit of 75 GB in less than 10-15 days only.


But this time it just went to the extreme. I was told that I had exceeded the limit on the 2nd day of the month only, despite the fact that I was really wary this time and so deliberately did not do any heavy browsing.


I have just not been able to fathom that how come I am exceeding the limit. I stay alone, so while I am in the office the modem remains Off, so there isn't any possibility of somebody else consuming the data on my behalf. I sparingly use Youtube to watch videos, apart from that I don't visit any other sites which can lead to high data usage.


It becomes so much inconvenient to manage with a low speed of less than .5 MBPS for rest of the month.


I had never faced such a problem with Airtel for 7 years.That too I had watched the entire World cup/IPL matches through live streaming. Sadly had to change from Airtel, due to relocation to another area. Also Airtel was honest enough to tell that they will be unable to provide a high speed connection in the new place.


I have tried to convince ACT people so many times that there is a serious discrepancy on their back end side, the way data is being measured, but they are just not ready to admit it. They just provide me a Xls sheet giving the breakup of the data usage, I have no means of confirming the veracity of the data.


Also I got to know that I am not the only sufferer, this anomaly of high data usage has been reported by many other ACT Customers also. This proves that there is a problem on your server side, which appallingly has not been fixed so far.


I have tried to escalate this, urged/pleaded so many times, written to the nodal officer also but to no avail.


This has become a perennial issue. This is the not the only problem, their connection is not fully stable, every now & then there will be some disruptions in form of disconnection/speed drop.


It takes almost 10-15 minutes to reach to their Customer Care, no matter at what time you call them.


They are simply exploiting the Customers, taking them for a ride.


I feel they don't have the required infrastructure yet to provide a seamless service.
